Capture video


Capture

This is the first step of your DVD creation – capture video and audio from a video device.

To select the device to capture video from:

Click on the drop-down list by the Video option and then select the video device on the list that appears.

To adjust settings for the selected video device:

Click on the Settings button by the Video drop-down list.

Note: If you are using a DV camera, the sound will be recorded from it directly. If the video device does not support sound (e.g., Web camera) you can manually select the device to record the sound from.

To select the device to capture audio from:

Click on the drop-down list by the Video option and then select the video device on the list that appears.

To preview the video being captured:
Select the Preview checkbox. The image will appear in the Preview window.

Click on the Start button to begin recording the next piece of video. When the recording is done, click Stop. Repeat recording pieces of video as many times as you need until the movie is done and then click Next.

Note: The compression method for the output file can be selected on the Setup page.

Capture. Jumpstart your DVD authoring with the Capture panel. Here you can capture video
and audio from the video device. Video, which is being captured, can be previewed in the preview
window. The compression method of the output file can be chosen on the Setup page.

Select the video device. If you are using a DV video camera, the sound will be recorded from it directly. If the video device does not support sound (e.g., web camera) you can manually select the device to record the sound from. You can also play or rewind the tape with the control buttons.

Press the start button to begin recording the piece, then press Stop. Repeat recording the pieces as many times as needed and then click Next
