This will allow you to capture streaming video and save it to your computer hard disk. You can also capture a still picture (snapshot) as you are grabbing a movie.

To switch to the Capture mode, click "Capture" on the modes pane on the left of the program's window or select "Capture" on the popup list at the top of the program's window.

Capturing streaming video

To capture streaming video:

1.Select the video source device on the popup list under the Video section.  
2.Click on the "Setup" link by the selected video device and adjust the settings as needed. These settings are specific for each camera type, so please refer to your camera's user's manual for more information.  
3.Select the audio source device on the popup list under the Audio section.  
4.On the popup list by the selected audio device, select the audio channel to be used as the source of the audio signal. The program will use this channel volume as the video volume level.  
5.Click on the "Start" button to begin the capture.  

To stop capturing, simply click on the "Stop" button while the capturing is in progress. That will stop the capture process and save the captured data to file on a disk.

You can see the capture progress on the progress bar on the left of the Capture options. Use it to see how far you are in your project.

Getting movie snapshot

You can also get a snapshot picture from the movie being captured. To get the snapshot picture, simply click on the "Get Photo" button at the bottom of the Capture screen.

Previewing picture

To preview the movie being captured, tick off the "Preview" option at the top of the Capture screen.
